India Update

So far, my trip to India has been amazing! Most of you know that I came out here to visit the Oracle offices in Bangalore where the developers & testers I work with are located. I’ve been working with them over the phone for three years, so it’s been fun to finally meet the people I’ve built a great working relationship with! Luckily for me, two other US based employees who have been to India before, joined me on this trip. Everyone here has been very hospitable and it’s been an experience learning about their culture and trying new foods. Here’s a quick update on some of the things I’ve been doing:

View from my hotel balcony. Hotel is called the Leela Palace and is considered the nicest hotel in Banagalore. There is talk that President Obama may be staying here during his visit to India, which might happen while I'm here!!

The first outing I had was to this rug shop. I learned it had become famous for selling to people such as Bill Clinton, Larry Ellison and some other US celebrities... but maybe that's just something they told me so I would want to buy a $2,000 rug.

Carl (right) and I both work out of the Pleasanton offices and we've known each other for the past couple years, however; we just recently found out that we both play golf! Who knew that our first round together would be half-way around the world! Sairam (left) met up with us and helped us get set up to play, caddies and all!!

Lunch with the managers on Tuesday. For those who might know them, Left-to-Right: Ravi, Annamalai, Sairam, Satish, me and Carl.

In case of fire, grab bucket!!

Been trying as many different things as possible! GREAT FOOD!

Group lunch outing on Wednesday.

A little taste of what traffic was like on our first day to the office.

Wow, what a fantastic trip. We just got back from a week in Maui, but I'm still jealous!
