Chris & Heather's Wedding
Published Saturday, October 16, 2010Chris has been one of my best buds since we met in high school. I actually met both Raul and Chris during our freshman year (yes, they are my BFFs). Needless to say I was honored when Chris asked me (and Raul) to be in his wedding. The wedding venue was a restaurant in Marina, CA which is just a few miles North of Monterey. As many people do, they chose a special date to have it, 10/10/10 (a Sunday). Since I was in the wedding, we had to be down there on Saturday for the rehearsal & lunch. Raul came over early Saturday morning and the 3 of us (Raul, Dani and I) headed out to Marina. Surprisingly, the drive to Marina only took 2 hours, for some reason I had always thought it was much further. Anyway, we got there, checked into our hotels and went to the rehearsal. The rehearsal went quickly then we all sat down for lunch. It was nice because we got to get
to know the bridesmaids (Heather’s nieces) a little more. I had met them once at a party before and Dani met them at the bridal shower but we had never really talked. After we headed back to the hotel where we hung out with Chris and Raul before leaving for our anniversary dinner (we were married on 10/09/08). A friend of mine who lives in Monterey suggested we try out a restaurant called Fandango (French cuisine) in downtown Monterey. It turned out to be great! They set us up on a table that was situated in a small nook on the top floor that overlooked the downtown area. We stuffed ourselves on good food and then managed to finish off a complementary dessert they served us for our anniversary! We headed back to Marina and caught up with the gang again at Chris’ sister’s campground where we had s’mores and drinks. We stayed for about an hour before heading back to the hotel & to bed.
Dani and I got up early on Sunday morning to go get coffee and to visit the nearby beach. After that we went back to the hotel and started getting ready. I got half-way ready then headed to Chris’ room where the other groom’s men and I finished getting ready while our pictures were taken. Once ready, we all went out with the photographer to a nearby area to take more pictures, of course we goofed around as much as possible! After that it was a waiting game until it was time to go to the venue. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves but the ceremony & reception went off without a hitch! It was a beautiful day filled with great friends and good food. Congrats to Chris & Heather!!
