R.I.P. Grandma Mary
Published Saturday, September 25, 2010Grandparents are special people! They love unconditionally, teach lessons and spoil us rotten even into our adulthood. The love of a grandparent is so great that I’ve found it the hardest love to lose. My favorite memory of all was after I had gone away to college (8-9 years ago) when she sent me a card to let me know she was thinking of me. Inside was a check for just over $3.00 and a note that said I shouldn’t worry, things would work out the way they were supposed to and to go get an ice cream with the money enclosed.
Although she had been sick for many years there were still moments when I thought she remembered me. I did not see her as often as maybe I should have but when I did she would often tell me how pretty I had grown up to be. Something in the way she said it made me feel like she knew exactly who I was, I’ll miss that. She was a wonderful, strong, and loving woman who is missed. Merci Beaucoup Grandma.

i hadn't checked this in a while. i didn't know this was on here. i started crying the moment i started reading it. i miss her alot and think about her all the time. i can still hear her say merci beaucoup like it was yesterday.
