Matt & Dani

You should have already guessed, but in case you don’t know by the subject title, it’s Dani writing this time… As many of you may already know, I am a bit old fashioned in a sense; spending most of my free time doing crafts of one sort or another, usually baking something.

Matt’s mom lives out in the country and a little ways off of a creek where wild blackberries grow. A couple weeks ago while we were out visiting, it was mentioned that the berries would be ripe for picking soon and that we should plan a trip back out. Yesterday we did just that, took the mule out for a drive along the creek and hit a beautiful patch of berries. Charlie, gloves on and pruning shears in hand got down into the bushes to pick the biggest and juiciest berries while I held the buckets and Matt supervised (camera in hand). Once we stripped the bush of it’s berries, we rode back to the house to get the berries ready to be frozen (pulling the individual berries off of their vines and placing them on a cookie sheet). Just from this trip we ended up with enough berries for 2-3 pies, coming soon. YUM! YUM! -D
